Disconcertingly, when my senior minister asked me to preach a seven week series on Zechariah, people began expressing sympathy for me. Actually, I found this an amazing book to preach through! It pretty much preaches itself – Zechariah, after all, was preaching at a time when people were wondering what God was up to in the world. They read incredible promises in the Scriptures, but it just didn’t match the world they saw around them. Our world is not that different.
To help communicate the historical context each week, my amazing creative brother Tom from Shark Eats Bear made me this video which we showed each week before the Bible reading to get us into the head space.
